App that scans food labels could help control diabetes

Summary

This study tests whether a mobile app that scans food barcodes and shows easy-to-read nutrition labels can help 900 adults with type 2 diabetes improve their blood sugar control. Participants either use the app plus get standard advice, or just get standard advice. The main goal is to see if the app lowers HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar) after 6 months.
