Order up! simple food switch may tame gestational diabetes blood sugar

NCT ID NCT06896799

First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the order you eat your food—protein first, then carbs—can lower blood sugar spikes in women with gestational diabetes. About 35 pregnant women will eat a test breakfast in two different orders on separate days. Researchers will compare blood sugar, gut hormones, and fullness to see if a simple change in eating sequence can help manage the condition without medication.
