Free meals and education aim to tackle food insecurity in diabetes patients

Summary
This study looks at whether giving people with diabetes who are food insecure access to nutritious meals and education can reduce their food insecurity and improve health. About 160 hospitalized adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus meal delivery for up to 90 days after discharge and ongoing nutrition guidance. The main goal is to see if food insecurity decreases at 60 days after leaving the hospital.
