First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a non-invasive ultrasound treatment can reduce or stop seizure activity in people with a severe, ongoing seizure condition called status epilepticus that hasn't improved with standard medications. Ten participants will receive a 10-minute focused ultrasound session targeting brain areas involved in seizures. The goal is to see if this approach safely quiets abnormal brain activity.
