Stroke study: where you focus may improve standing balance

NCT ID NCT07460804

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether thinking about a target outside your body (external focus) or thinking about your own movements (internal focus) helps people who have had a stroke stand up from a chair more evenly. Twenty adults who had a stroke at least six months ago will practice standing up and be tested on their balance and walking. The goal is to find better ways to improve movement and recovery after stroke.
