New study: could a quick radiation shot keep prostate cancer in check without major side effects?

NCT ID NCT07152067

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study compares two approaches for men with early-stage prostate cancer: active surveillance (monitoring only) versus a precise, short course of radiation aimed only at the visible tumor. The goal is to see if this focused radiation lowers the chance of needing stronger treatments like surgery or full prostate radiation later. About 146 men will take part, and the study is not yet recruiting.
