First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether transplanting healthy donor stool into the gut can eliminate dangerous drug-resistant bacteria (carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae) in 60 colonized patients. Participants receive either a fecal transplant or a placebo in a double-blind design. The goal is to see if the treatment can turn their lab tests negative, potentially reducing infection risk.
