First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 15 times

This study tests whether fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) can help treat delirium in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Delirium is a serious confusion that affects up to 80% of ICU patients and can lead to long-term brain problems. The trial will give 60 adults with delirium either standard care or FMT, and track how many days they are free of delirium, as well as other health outcomes.
