First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether transplanting healthy gut bacteria (fecal microbiota transplantation) can improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar control in 16 adults with type 2 diabetes. Participants receive either the transplant or a placebo, and researchers measure changes in glucose levels and gut bacteria over 7 weeks. The goal is to see if this approach can help manage diabetes, not cure it.
