Scientists peer inside lungs to see how nasal flu vaccine fights flu

NCT ID NCT07177417

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at how the FluMist nasal spray flu vaccine and the standard flu shot create immune responses in the nose, blood, and lungs. Researchers will measure antibodies before and 14 days after vaccination in 30 healthy adults aged 18-40. Some participants will also have a bronchoscopy to check immune activity deep in the lungs. The goal is to better understand how different flu vaccines protect the whole respiratory system.
