Simple finger test may predict Life-Saving treatment response in severe infection

NCT ID NCT06067516

Summary

This study looked at patients in intensive care with septic shock, a life-threatening response to infection. Researchers wanted to see if a simple bedside test—pressing on a finger to check blood flow recovery time—could predict how well a standard fluid treatment would improve the function of vital organs like the heart and kidneys. They compared patients whose finger test improved quickly after fluids to those whose did not, to understand the link between skin blood flow and overall organ health.
