Double-Action flu attack: new combo therapy trial aims to protect most vulnerable
NCT ID NCT04712539
Summary
This study is testing if giving two antiviral drugs together (baloxavir and oseltamivir) works better than the standard single drug (oseltamivir) to treat severe influenza. It is for people with blood cancers or who have had a stem cell transplant, as their weakened immune systems make flu more dangerous. Researchers will measure if the combination clears the virus faster and reduces serious complications like pneumonia or long hospital stays.
