New hope for seniors with aggressive leukemia: chemo plus transplant combo

NCT ID NCT07046078

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a treatment for adults aged 60 and older with newly diagnosed, high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or similar blood cancers. The approach combines strong chemotherapy (FLAG-Ida) with a donor stem cell transplant shortly after, aiming to shorten the dangerous period of low blood counts. About 20 participants will be enrolled to see if this strategy is safe and helps more patients complete the transplant successfully.
