First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study is testing whether giving pregnant women high doses of fish oil can reduce the risk of their children developing asthma or persistent wheezing in the first three years of life. The researchers are recruiting 2,000 pregnant women in Denmark who have low blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids. Participants will take fish oil supplements or a placebo during pregnancy, and their children will be followed for asthma and related conditions.
