Can fish oil stop muscle wasting in lung disease?
NCT ID NCT01624792
Summary
This study tested whether fish oil supplements (EPA and DHA) could help people with COPD build muscle when combined with a protein drink. Researchers compared different doses of fish oil to a placebo over four weeks to see which was better at improving the body's ability to make muscle protein. The goal was to find a nutritional strategy to combat the muscle loss that commonly worsens COPD.
