First human test for Kratom-Based drug begins

Summary
This is the first study to test a new oral medication called MG001 in people. MG001 contains mitragynine, a compound from the kratom plant. The main goal is to check how safe it is and how the body handles it in 32 healthy adults who have recently used opioids. Participants will stay in a clinic for observation after receiving a single dose.
