First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study compares a new dissolvable heart stent (Firesorb) to a standard metal stent in 2,000 people with coronary artery disease. The dissolvable stent is designed to support the artery temporarily and then disappear, potentially reducing long-term risks. The goal is to see if it works as well as the permanent metal stent.
