Firefighters get cutting-edge cancer screening in new study

NCT ID NCT06931561

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether whole-body MRI, ultrasound, and a new blood test can find cancer early in firefighters. Firefighters have a higher risk of cancer due to job exposures. The study will enroll 800 active firefighters aged 35 and older with at least 10 years of service. It aims to see how many pre-cancers or cancers these tests can detect, but does not offer treatment.
