Firefighters get cutting-edge cancer screening in new pilot study
NCT ID NCT06931561
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether whole-body MRI, ultrasound, and a new blood test can find cancer early in firefighters. Firefighters have a higher risk of certain cancers due to job exposures. The study will enroll 800 active firefighters aged 35 and older with at least 10 years of service. Results will show how well these screening tools detect pre-cancer and cancer.
