ER doctors ask new questions to stop kids from finding guns
NCT ID NCT07482982
Summary
This study tested different questions to help doctors quickly and effectively ask parents or caregivers in the emergency room if there are unsafe guns in their home. Researchers wanted to find the best way to identify homes where children might have access to firearms, so they could offer free gun locks to prevent accidents. The goal was to prevent firearm injuries, which are the leading cause of death for children in the United States.
