ER study aims to stop child gun deaths with simple questions

NCT ID NCT07482982

Summary

This study tested different ways for doctors to ask parents about guns in the home when their child visits the emergency room. Researchers wanted to find which questions made parents most likely to admit having a firearm, so they could then offer free gun locks. The goal is to prevent accidental shootings and injuries in children by encouraging safe storage.
