Which finger gives the truest oxygen reading? study investigates
NCT ID NCT04771663
Summary
This study aimed to find out if the finger you choose to place a pulse oximeter sensor on affects the oxygen level reading it gives. Researchers tested 24 healthy volunteers by having them briefly breathe air with low oxygen and high carbon dioxide while wearing sensors on all their fingers. The goal was to gather knowledge to help doctors and patients better interpret these common medical measurements.
