First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study checked over 5,000 adults coming to the emergency room to see how many had undiagnosed diabetes or pre-diabetes. Using a standard blood test already taken for other reasons, researchers measured long-term blood sugar levels. The goal was to find people who didn't know they had high blood sugar so they could get treatment and avoid future heart problems.
