First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting a person's own skin cells (from the palm) into the stump of a leg amputation can make the skin firmer and more comfortable for wearing a prosthetic. Twenty adults with below-knee amputations will receive either the cell injection or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the treatment is safe and improves skin firmness over three months.
