First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a thin, flexible tube with a camera (fiberoptic bronchoscopy) helps treat severe pneumonia in patients on breathing machines. 100 adults in the ICU were split into two groups: one got standard care, and the other got standard care plus the scope procedure. The goal was to see if the scope improved recovery, shortened ICU stays, and reduced death rates.
