Study tests simpler antibiotic regimen for cancer Patients' fevers

Summary
This study aims to find out if using just one antibiotic (amoxicillin-clavulanate) works as well as using two antibiotics (amoxicillin-clavulanate plus ciprofloxacin) to treat fever that occurs in adult blood cancer patients after chemotherapy. The trial will include 1,526 adults with lymphoma, myelodysplasia, or acute myeloblastic leukemia who develop fever during outpatient care. Researchers want to see if the simpler, single-antibiotic approach is just as effective while potentially reducing side effects and antibiotic resistance.
