Doctors test womb surgery to help babies with underdeveloped lungs
NCT ID NCT05962346
Summary
This study is testing a specialized fetal surgery called FETO to help babies with a severe form of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). The procedure temporarily blocks the baby's windpipe before birth to help the lungs grow bigger and stronger. Researchers will enroll 20 pregnant women to see if the surgery is safe and effective at improving outcomes for these high-risk babies.
