First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding functional electrical stimulation (FES) to standard rehab can reduce muscle stiffness, strengthen legs, and improve walking and daily function in people with paraplegia. About 40 adults with spinal cord injury will be randomly assigned to either rehab alone or rehab plus FES for 8 weeks. The goal is to see if FES helps ease symptoms and boost mobility.
