Shocking discovery: nerve zap boosts jump height in athletes

NCT ID NCT07524647

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a technique called percutaneous neuromodulation (using a tiny needle to electrically stimulate the femoral nerve under ultrasound guidance) can improve vertical jump performance in healthy athletes. 29 athletes did plyometric training, with half also receiving the nerve stimulation. The goal was to see if the combined approach leads to bigger jumps than training alone.
