First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a new infant formula containing HMO (human milk oligosaccharides) and DHA/ARA can improve cognitive development in newborns. 240 healthy, full-term infants were randomly assigned to receive either the test formula, a standard formula, or breast milk for 12 months. The main goal was to compare cognitive scores on the Bayley-III test at 12 months of age.
