Poop pills to fight cancer drug side effects?
NCT ID NCT04163289
Summary
This study is testing if a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT), which transfers healthy gut bacteria from a donor, can help patients with advanced kidney cancer better tolerate a powerful two-drug immunotherapy combination. The goal is to reduce severe side effects so patients can stay on their cancer treatment longer. Researchers will give the FMT to 20 patients before and during their immunotherapy to see if it is safe and helps prevent toxic reactions.
