Poop transplants tested as lifesaving treatment for dangerous transplant complication

NCT ID NCT03819803

Summary

This study is testing whether transplanting stool from a healthy donor into a patient's gut can treat a severe complication called graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) that occurs after a stem cell transplant. The trial focuses on patients whose GVHD has not responded to standard steroid treatment. Researchers aim to see if restoring healthy gut bacteria can help control the disease and improve survival.
