First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a stool transplant (fecal microbiota transplantation) given during a colonoscopy can stop repeat Clostridium difficile (C. diff) infections. About 500 people who have had two or more C. diff recurrences and failed standard antibiotics will receive a stool sample from a healthy donor. The goal is to restore good bacteria in the colon to prevent the infection from coming back.
