Poop pills: a new hope for IBS sufferers?
NCT ID NCT07481422
Summary
This study is testing whether taking oral capsules containing freeze-dried, healthy donor stool can safely and effectively treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in adults whose symptoms haven't improved with standard treatments. Researchers will compare these 'fecal transplant' capsules to placebo capsules to see if they reduce IBS symptom severity and improve quality of life and mental health over 12 weeks. About 70 participants will take the capsules for three days and be monitored for safety and symptom changes.
