Quick Finger-Prick test aims to spot bacterial infections in sick kids

Summary
This study is testing a new, rapid fingerstick blood test called FebriDx in children with fevers and respiratory symptoms like coughs and sore throats. The goal is to see how well the test can tell if the illness is caused by bacteria (which might need antibiotics) or a virus (which usually doesn't). Researchers will enroll 800 children aged 2-11 at clinics and emergency rooms to compare the test results to a detailed expert review of each child's case.
