Summary
This study looked at whether a special pressure measurement (esophageal pressure) can be used during surgeries where only one lung is ventilated. Six adults having non-cardiac surgery participated. Researchers compared the pressure readings to lung collapse images from a device called electrical impedance tomography. The goal was to see if this method is feasible and valid for guiding ventilator settings.
