New scan could spot cancer spread earlier and save lives

Summary

This study tests if a special PET/CT scan can detect cancer progression earlier than standard CT scans in people with metastatic breast cancer. About 420 adults starting their first treatment will be randomly assigned to one scan type. The goal is to see if earlier detection leads to longer survival and better quality of life.
