Summary
This study tested a drug called favipiravir to see if it could help people survive Ebola. Researchers gave high doses of the drug to 126 patients in Guinea and tracked how many died. The goal was to find a simple, oral treatment that could be used during outbreaks. Results showed some benefit in patients with moderate virus levels, but not in those with very high levels.
