Even 'Safe' noise may wear down your hearing and focus, new study warns
NCT ID NCT07604077
First seen May 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how short-term exposure to everyday workplace noise (below the legal limit) can temporarily affect hearing and thinking. Forty healthy adults aged 18-35 will be exposed to noise with or without quiet breaks. Researchers will measure hearing sensitivity, speech understanding in noise, and mental performance to see if silent breaks help reduce fatigue.
