Brown fat diet study pulled before it began
NCT ID NCT04385615
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study was designed to test whether a fasting-mimicking diet (a low-calorie, high-unsaturated-fat diet) could activate beige/brown adipose tissue (BAT) — a type of body fat that burns calories — in adults with overweight. The researchers planned to measure BAT activity using PET/CT scans, thermal imaging, and blood tests. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
