Fasting during chemo: could skipping meals improve ovarian cancer treatment?

NCT ID NCT06386887

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether timed fasting (not eating for 16 hours a day, 5 days a week) is safe and doable for women with advanced ovarian cancer receiving chemotherapy before surgery. About 20 participants will either follow a fasting schedule or standard diet for 6-9 weeks. Researchers will check if fasting helps improve quality of life, reduce side effects, and is something patients can stick with.
