Portable heart test aims to cut ER wait times for chest pain
NCT ID NCT06899776
Summary
This study is testing whether using a portable, bedside blood test for heart attacks can help emergency room doctors get results faster compared to sending samples to the main hospital lab. Researchers will enroll 600 adults coming to the ER with chest pain to compare the two testing methods. The goal is to see if the faster bedside test reduces patient wait times, helps doctors make decisions sooner, and improves emergency department efficiency without changing the standard care patients receive.
