Fewer shots, same sight? study tests 3-Loading-Dose strategy for wet AMD
NCT ID NCT06890026
First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether three monthly loading doses of the drug faricimab can effectively control wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. Researchers followed 742 patients who had not been treated before to see how long the effect lasted and whether a fourth loading dose is always needed. The goal is to reduce the number of eye injections patients need while still protecting their vision.
