This study tested whether a safe type of ultraviolet light (far-UVC) can help prevent respiratory viral infections like flu and COVID-19 in long-term care facilities. About 550 elderly residents took part, and the light was used as an extra cleaning method alongside usual hygiene practices. The goal was to see if the light could reduce the number of infections.
