First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether far-UVC light, which is safe for people, can reduce infections in elderly nursing home residents. Over 600 residents in 12 Danish facilities took part. Some homes had the lights in common areas, some in both common areas and apartments, and others received standard care. The goal was to see if the lights could lower hospitalizations from infections like pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
