Family groups aim to help HIV-Positive youth stay healthy and beat stigma

NCT ID NCT05358795

Summary

This study tested a program called 'Family Connections' for teens and young adults (ages 15-21) living with HIV and their caregivers in Zambia. The goal was to see if group sessions providing family support and reducing self-stigma could help young people stick to their HIV medication and achieve an undetectable viral load. The program was compared to standard clinic care across 20 health facilities.
