Family donor immune cells take on post-transplant viruses in groundbreaking trial

NCT ID NCT07225972

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study is for children and young adults who have a stubborn adenovirus or CMV infection after a stem cell transplant. It tests whether adding specially grown immune cells from a family donor to standard care can clear the virus better than standard care alone. About 69 participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the donor cells help control the infection without causing serious side effects.
