Study reveals Apathy's role in fatigue for seniors with memory problems

NCT ID NCT04573712

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at how apathy (lack of interest or motivation) influences different types of fatigue in older adults with mild cognitive disorders. Researchers compared 30 apathetic and 30 non-apathetic participants aged 65-85. Participants wore activity trackers for a week and completed tests and questionnaires to measure fatigue, motivation, and stress. The goal was to better understand the connection between apathy and fatigue, not to test a treatment.
