First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This first-in-human study tests a shape-memory polymer implant designed to block blood flow in the false lumen of an aortic dissection. The goal is to prevent the aorta from growing and reduce the risk of rupture. About 15 adults with type A or B aortic dissection will be enrolled to check if the implant is safe and works as intended.
