First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether visits from a parish nurse can help people with high blood pressure get it under control. About 100 adults from church health fairs in Los Angeles took part. Half were assigned to see a parish nurse, and the other half went to their regular doctor. After 4 months, the researchers checked if blood pressure dropped more in the nurse visit group.
